This is one of the moments in the films by Stan Brakhage that has stayed imprinted in my mind:
The project, Submadreamgun , is a 45-minute electroacoustic composition by a legitimate composer who is taking popular music seriously and who makes use of popular genres in his artistic practice. Originally, the Submadreamgun project opened as a sound art installation at a gallery space in the neighborhood known as "the Haight" in San Francisco, in 2002. Though the presentation in an art gallery was different, the music is streamable here, in its recorded form. Note the way the music plays with music conventions and crosses over between different styles of popular genres: Submadreamgun by Alex Sharp Cole
